Sharingain Longkumer on Saturday adjourned the sixth session of the 14th
Nagaland Legislative Assembly sine die after transacting all businesses listed
for the day.
- The five-day state assembly session that began on Monday
deliberated on pressing issues, including the suspension of Free Movement
Regime, mushrooming of unions, and the Trans Nagaland Highway (Foothills Road),
among others. The state budget for the financial year 2025-2026 was also
presented.

Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio flags ‘proliferation of factions’
- The speaker informed that eight bills were passed, and five
subjects of paramount importance for discussion under Rule 50 and Rule 54,
respectively, were taken up. The members also utilised the medium of zero hour
to highlight pressing and emerging issues.
- Sharing his personal view on the budget for the year
2025-26, Longkumer called it one of the "most holistic" budgets
presented in the house while adding that it signifies a "resurgent"
and "transformed" Nagaland.
- He thanked the leader of the house, who is also the minister
in charge of Finance, the council of ministers, and MLAs for coming up with a
far-sighted budget and added that sincerity towards the people has been
reflected. He further thanked the members for their cooperation in maintaining
decorum, sanctity of the house, and ensuring efficiency of proceedings.
