DIMAPUR — Nagaland is likely to experience continued monsoon activity over the next four days, with thunderstorms, lightning and rainfall forecast across several districts, according to Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA).
The district-wise outlook for August 22 to 25 indicates light to moderate rainfall at scattered locations, with thunderstorms and lightning likely in several areas.
The five-day rainfall outlook for August 21 to 25 projects the highest cumulative rainfall in Mokokchung at 102.51 mm, followed by Longleng (100.59 mm), Mon (93.58 mm), Tuensang (83.84 mm), Wokha (82.59 mm), Tseminyu (78.35 mm) and Peren (71.06 mm).
The NSDMA advised residents to monitor weather updates through the Safer Nagaland mobile application and its Weather Portal and follow official advisories.
Motorists have also been urged to exercise caution while travelling, particularly along vulnerable and landslide-prone stretches, during periods of rainfall and thunderstorms.
