Nagaland Board of School Education conducts state-wide orientation programmes for secondary school teachers on the Holistic Progress Card

DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) conducted a one-day orientation programme on the Holistic Progress Card for the secondary stage in two phases at Greenwood School, Kuda Village, Dimapur, on October 28, and at the Regional Centre of Excellence for Music and Performing Arts (RCEMPA), Jotsoma, Kohima, on October 30.
According to an update, the programme was organised under the guidance of Performance Assessment, Review, and Analysis of Knowledge for Holistic Development (PARAKH), National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), ahead of the introduction of the card in all registered schools from the academic session beginning January 2027.
Teachers representing registered schools from all 17 districts of the state attended, with one Class 9 teacher from each school participating.
Indrani Bhaduri, CEO and Head of PARAKH, the National Assessment Centre under NCERT, delivered the keynote address virtually. The sessions in Dimapur were conducted by a resource person from PARAKH, NCERT, and those at Jotsoma by officials of the Board.

Every activity on the card is assessed against three abilities: Awareness, Sensitivity, and Creativity, at three levels: Beginner, Proficient, and Advanced.
The sessions covered discussions on Parts A to F of the card and the official guidelines on how to fill it. The teachers were given practical work, including the filling of a mock student profile and a mock parent-teacher interaction. Participants were provided a compendium of the day’s activities with worked answers, a roadmap of the implementation year aligned to the Board’s academic calendar, and a reference poster for the staff room.
Participants will now orient the remaining secondary-level teachers of their respective schools, and schools are required to submit an action taken report to the Board by December 15.
Video tutorials on filling the card are available on the official NBSE YouTube channel, and resource materials used at the orientation have been placed on the Board’s portal. The card will be introduced for Class 9 from the academic session in 2027 and in Class 10 in 2028.
