Kohima, May 31 (EMN): The Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) on Tuesday declared the results of High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) and Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) examinations 2022, and girls outperformed boys, yet again.
The NBSE conducted HSLC examinations from March 9 to the 22nd and HSSLC exams from March 8 to the 31st.
In HSLC examination, a total of 28,938 students appeared, out of which 18,721 candidates qualified, recording a pass percentage of 64.69%. Of the total number of students who cleared the exam, 10,021 were girls and 8,700 boys.
As many as 62 candidates made it to the top 20, out of which 44 are girls and the remaining 18 boys.

Delphi Oinam from Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Dimapur topped the HSLC examination 2022, scoring total percentage of 99.17%.
In HSLC compartmental examination, 901 out of the 1392 candidates enrolled qualified the exam with a pass percentage of 64.73%.
A total of 90 schools secured 100% qualified/pass percentage, out of which 78 are private schools and 12 government schools. This year, 34 schools recorded zero/nil results, out of which 33 are government schools and one is a private school.
Government schools recorded a pass percentage of 36.62%, while private schools recorded 82.08%.
In terms of district-wise performance for government schools, Kohima district topped the table with a percentage of 57%, followed by Mokokchung at 54% and Peren at 52%, while Kiphire district is at the bottom at 7%.
In respect of private schools too, Kohima district topped with a pass percentage of 88%, followed by Zunheboto at 84%.
The number of candidates who secured 80% and above in aggregate is 1527, out of which 20 of them are from government schools.
In HSSLC examination, 17,121 candidates were enrolled and the overall percentage in Arts stream is 80.64%, Commerce stream 82.28% and Science stream 88.24%. As many as 16 institutions under Arts stream, 10 institutions under Science stream and four institutions under Commerce stream secured 100% pass result.
Once again, girls outperformed boys in all the streams -- Arts, Science, and Commerce. The pass percentage of girls in Arts stands at 85.66% and boys 70.80%; girls recorded 88.03% pass percentage and boys 78.71% in Commerce; and 93.07% of girls passed in Science compared 82.92% among boys.
Limasungla from Christian Higher Secondary School, Dimapur, secured the top one position in Arts stream, scoring a total percentage of 97.60%; Subhansu Jaiswal from Holy Cross Hr. Sec. School, Dimapur, topped the Commerce stream with a score of 98.60%.
Ngamjong Jn Yanlem from St. John Hr. Sec. Residential School, Dimapur, topped the Science stream with a score of 95.20%.
The NBSE said in an update that two students from government schools were in top 10 list, with a student from Government Higher Secondary School, Jotsoma securing rank 4 and a student from Government Higher Secondary School, Chumoukedima securing rank 8 in the HSSLC exams.
