Dimapur, July 1 (EMN): Nagaland BJP organised membership drive workshops in various districts of the State from June 26 to 29th, informed an update from the party.
A membership drive workshop was held in Mangkolemba under the leadership of Takosunep on June 26, followed by another workshop on June 27 at Mokokchung under the in-charge of Apong Longchar along with Tuensang in-charge Horili Sangtam, Longleng in-charge Belong Phom and Aboi in-charge Longnyei.
On June 28, similar workshops were held in Phek, Pughoboto, Peren, Kohima, and Zunheboto.
The Wokha unit also organised the party membership drive at its office on June 28. The party’s officials consisting of district office bearers, both parents and morchas, and district Mandals committee members attended the event.
The unit general secretary in-charge of press and media, M James Tungoe informed that the unit president Y Kikon, Thebemo Ovung, general secretary of 39 Sanis Mandal, Samuel Ezung and other party workers spoke during the workshop. Subenthung Kithan urged all the party workers to help in the membership drive.
On June 29, similar membership drive workshops were held in Dimapur, Mon, and Noklak.
BJP leaders like Thsangse Sangtam, State vice president; Lanu Akum O, State spokesperson; Khongwang, State secretary; party chief spokesman, Kuputo Shohe; chairman of NEPED Kevechutso Duolo; party secretary (Org.) Ananta Mishra; district membership committee member Aholi Achumi; State vice president Peter Rutsa; State BJP president Temjen Imna Along; State vice president Subenthung; State executive member Huzanttabou; State general secretary and co-in-charge of State membership committee Jaangsillung Gonmei; and State secretary Er. Kawang spoke during the drive, informed a statement from the BJP Nagaland.
The Mandal membership Committees were asked to set up a minimum 25-member Booth Committees and to hold incharge and co-incharge workshops before July 5. The party workers were urged to gear up for a short but intensive membership enrollment drive that would be launched nationwide on July 6. The participants were also briefed on the process of enrolling members.
