- DIMAPUR — BJP
Yuva Morcha Nagaland staged a protest against the alleged misbehavior of
opposition party leader Rahul Gandhi towards the BJP MP Rajya Sabha, Phangnon
Konyak, at the Congress Bhavan in Dimapur on Friday.
- Speaking to media persons, a senior BJP member, Khekato
Awomi, said that the BJP Nagaland has organised the protest against the alleged
misbehavior of Rahul Ghandi towards S Phangnon Konyak outside the Parliament.
- When asked if they have proof of the allegation, the vice
president of State Yuva Morcha, Rajat Ghosh, responded by saying that Rahul
Gandhi himself had clearly mentioned in his statement about the incident that
happened in the Parliament.
- During the protest, posters of Rahul Gandhi were burned
outside Congress Bhavan and also displayed placards that read “Congress is
anti-tribal, anti-women,” “India will not tolerate the insult of Dr. Baba Saheb
Ambeddkar” “Gandhi family should apologise” etc.
- Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Nagaland state
has vehemently condemned the reprehensible behaviour exhibited by the Leader of
Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, towards its Rajya Sabha MP, S
Phangnon Konyak, stating that such actions are not only an affront to her
personal dignity but also an insult to the people of Nagaland whom she
represents.
- “This kind of disgraceful behaviour is a blatant violation
of Parliamentary decorum and an attack on the respect and safety that every
daughter of the nation deserves. Such behaviour is unbecoming on the part of
Rahul Gandhi as an elected representative and goes against the principles of
non-violence and respect that our democracy upholds. It is also a stark
indication of the animosity he and the Congress party has towards the MPs of
the BJP,” BJP Nagaland said through its media department.
- It stated that the incident further underscored a disturbing
example of the deep-seated disregard for the rights and dignity of women and
representatives from the northeast harboured by the Congress party and its
leadership.
