DIMAPUR — Nagaland has been recognised as the Best Performing Small State under the Pre-authorisation Approval TAT – Portability category for FY 2025–26 under Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY).
The award was conferred on the Nagaland Health Protection Society (NHPS), the implementing agency of AB PM-JAY and the Chief Minister’s Health Insurance Scheme (CMHIS) in the state, at the Chintan Shivir held on April 17 and 18 in Pune, Maharashtra.
Organised by the National Health Authority (NHA), the two-day Chintan Shivir brought together officials from the Centre and states/UTs to deliberate on strengthening healthcare delivery through technology, innovation and collaborative governance, while also recognising performance across key indicators under AB PM-JAY and the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM).
Nagaland was among three awardees in the portability category, along with Odisha (large state) and Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu (UT). The category assesses the timeliness of pre-authorisation approvals for patients seeking treatment outside their home state.
