Dimapur, Aug. 28 (EMN): Dimapur District Auto Driver's Union (DDADU) launched new uniform for officials, parking in-charges, executive members, and advisors at its office at Naga Shopping Arcade (Super Market) on August 28.
The new uniform would be distributed to all the in-charge of auto parking and officials so that it would be easier for the public to identify them for queries and share grievances in the event of any problem.
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=6]Briefing media persons after the event, the union president, Tito Yepthomi, said they have received numerous complaints regarding extra auto fare charged by the auto drivers. In order to cope with the pandemic situation, he has requested the auto drivers to charge reasonable fare from the passengers.
Yepthomi added that increased charges of auto fare to an extent are understandable as the prices of petrol and diesel have risen due to the pandemic and has affected everyone. He, however, stated that one can register complaint to the respective in-charge personally or even call the officials if the auto fare is charged overtly.
Yepthomi also informed that ambulance service is available for free for the auto drivers and their family members. He added that public could also avail the ambulance service at nominal charge. To avail the ambulance service, public have been asked to contact phone no. 7005041574.
