Nagaland: Atongjungla Walling crowned Miss Mokokchung 2026

MOKOKCHUNG — Atongjungla Walling was crowned Miss Mokokchung 2026 during the grand finale held at Town Hall in Mokokchung on Friday.

She was accompanied by Chubaienla Pongen and Reshma Sahani as the first runner-up and second runner-up respectively.

The pageant was organised by Forerunners Mokokchung and co-powered by the Beauty and Aesthetic Society of Nagaland (BASN).

Eleven contestants, aged between 18 and 22, took part in the competition.

Walling, a Bachelor of Arts student majoring in English, expressed a keen interest in learning, meeting new people and embracing fresh experiences.

Aspiring to become a cabin crew, she hopes to combine her passion for serving others with her ambition to explore the world. She also aims to inspire others to pursue their goals with confidence.

As Miss Mokokchung 2026, Walling will receive direct entry into this year’s Miss Nagaland pageant, the organisers said. The first and second runners-up will also be eligible to audition for the state-level competition.

First runner-up Chubaienla Pongen, 20, is also a Bachelor of Arts student majoring in English. Her interests include gardening, sketching and cooking. She aspires to become a teacher and hopes to work with young people by fostering knowledge, confidence and self-belief.

Second runner-up Reshma Sahani, 19, is pursuing a degree in Mass Communication and Journalism. She plans to build a career in the media industry, with a particular interest in storytelling and issues related to confidence, culture and opportunities for young women. She hopes to use her voice and work to make a positive contribution both within and beyond the media field.
