
Dimapur, April 27 (EMN): A novel called 'Aphulomi nu/son of a farmer' written by Kakiye Yehato Swu in Sumi dialect using diacritics was released by I Nikheto Jimomi, Sumi Hoho president at Sumi Hoho Ki on Monday.
Swu said that the novel is about how the son of a farmer struggles for the pursuit of education. He added that this novel is his autobiography with the motive to challenge today's students, a press release informed.
He lauded Sumi Hoho president for the consistent efforts and chairman of Sumi Literature Board for accepting the release of the book. Jimomi, while releasing the book lauded the author for his diligence and wished him best for the success of the book and called on the Sumi frontal organisations to promote the author in their respective areas to encourage the author.
Vihoshe Muru, chairman of Sumi Literature Board, while speaking in the programme, lamented that there are very few readers of Sumi books and called on the members present to educate people on the importance of mother tongue.
Mention may be made that the author holds a master's degree in History and a diploma in Human Rights Education from Pune University. He is currently a committee member of Sumi Literature Board Text Book Cell (Degree) and is also serving as school health programme coordinator (SHP/RBSP) for Zunheboto district.
