Nagaland: Angling competition held at Phesama

Dimapur, Aug. 13 (EMN): An open angling competition was organised by Phesama Youth Organisation with an aim to promote eco-tourism at Nidzüza, Phesama village under Kohima district on Saturday.

Vizokho Zashümo, president PYO, said the intention of hosting the angling competition was to promote eco-tourism while keeping the surroundings clean. He said it would be an annual event and expressed hope for more participants in the next edition, an update stated. 

Phesama Village Council Chairman Bizo M Kuotsu appreciated the youth for taking the initiative in preserving the area. He expressed hope that with more initiatives, Nidzüza would become an eco tourism spot. He later declared the tournament open.

Around 50 persons took part in the competition including participants from Phek and Dimapur.

In the competition, Seyievilie Peter Zashümo was declared the winner for the biggest catch, while Mhasileto Kar came in second place and K Chikong Ao in third place, while fourth place went to Vikoto Zashümo.
