
KOHIMA — For the first time, the Hornbill Festival in Kisama is witnessing a celebration that blends Christian faith and Naga culture through ‘Praise Fiesta’ initiated by The Lighthouse Church, Dimapur.
Kisama Chapel surrounding comes out alive at 3 pm everyday with visitors gathering to witness and participate along with the praise and worship team.

“This is the first time in the 25 years of Hornbill that the government has allowed us to come and worship Jesus,” Wabang Longchari, Lead Pastor of The lighthouse Church, Dimapur, said.
He added that Nagaland and Christ are one and cannot be separated and that’s why the slogan ‘Nagaland for Christ.’
“This is a programme celebrating Jesus Christ in Kisama,” the lead pastor said.
He hoped that people who come to see the culture and tradition in Kisama will also be blessed with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
“It is very important to acknowledge Jesus because it is He who has changed us, transformed us and today where we are is because of the good news that Jesus loves us, and that Jesus died for us to save us, so that we will be with him in eternity,” Longchari said.
Dr. Naomi Zhimomi, while sharing her life testimony on
Tuesday, said even after being so content in life, she had always felt
something was missing. She later realised it was Jesus Christ that was missing
in her life.
“Today, I stand here feeling complete, feeling that I'm filled up with the spirit of God,” she shared and added there is nothing lacking in her life now.
She went on to add that “life is not perfect but it is beautiful with God by our side every day.” She ended her testimony by praying for the gathering.
The Praise Fiesta will culminate on December 4.
