DIMAPUR — Flagging continued delays despite Cabinet clearance, the All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) on Saturday demanded the immediate requisition of 129 assistant professor posts to Nagaland Public Service Commission (NPSC).
In a representation submitted to the Higher & Technical Education department, the ANCSU expressed disappointment over what it termed the department’s “continued inaction” in forwarding the requisition for 129 assistant professor posts to the NPSC for recruitment.
The union acknowledged the state government and the department for creating the posts to address acute shortage of faculty in government colleges.
However, it pointed out that despite the recommendation of Manpower Rationalisation Committee (MRC) on August 11, 2025, and subsequent approval by the state Cabinet on August 30, 2025, the requisition process has not moved forward.

Questioning the delay, the ANCSU stated that all administrative clearances at the government level have already been completed, leaving no justification for withholding the requisition to the NPSC.
The union maintained that the recruitment process should have been initiated without further delay once Cabinet approval was accorded.
Stating that timely recruitment is crucial for strengthening higher education in the state, the ANCSU cautioned that prolonged delays could aggravate concerns among students and aspiring candidates, besides affecting academic standards in government colleges.
The union urged the competent authority to address the issue promptly in the larger interest of students and aspirants, reiterating its demand for the immediate forwarding of the requisition for the 129 assistant professor posts to the NPSC.
