Dimapur, November 13: The Nagaland Cricket Association is all set to host the first ever BCCI Trophy match at Nagaland Cricket Stadium Sovima in Dimapur. The first league match of All India Cooch Behar (under 19), Group D match will be played between Gujarat (U-19) and combined A&A team (BCCI Associate and Affiliate Under-19 team) from November 14 to 17 at Sovima.
The BCCI match officials, team members of both the team have already arrived at Dimapur. A camp for the A&A team was held at Dimapur from November 8 to 13.
The A&A team is the combined team of Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Manipur, Sikkim, Nagaland and Bihar.
The team were earlier selected from associate and affiliate members trophy held at Allur in Bangalore in September 2016 by All India Junior Selectors, Venkatesh Prasad and Rakesh Parik. The combined A&A team has played the East Zone Vinoo Mankad (U-19) one-day tournament at Dhanbad in Jharkhand in October and three players have been listed in the East Zone probable’s- Sabir Khan, Anmol Bony (both from Bihar) and Tahmeed Rahman (Nagaland) based on their performance in the tournament.
The A&A team have four players from Nagaland who will get their opportunity to play their first match on their home ground.
Sedezhalie Rupreo,Puchu Deb , Nagaho Chishi and Tahmeed Rahman are all ready to play the first four-day game of their career.
Meanwhile, Nagaland Cricket Association has requested all cricket lovers and well-wishers of Nagaland to come and witness the historic match which will start at 8.45 am to 3.45 pm from November 14-17.
