
Dimapur, Jan. 6 (EMN): A three-day 15th annual general conference of the Association of Gorkha Baptist Church Council (AGBCN) began on Friday at Hopongkyu Memorial Hall in Kiphire town hosted by Nepali Baptist Church (NBC) Kiphire on the theme “Deeper walk with God” (Deuteronomy 8:6).
The executive secretary of United Sangtam Baptist Lithroti Ashimükhong (USBLA), Rev. Y Imtiba Sangtam; executive secretary of AGBCN, Rev. Dr. Santabir Rai; and ABCGN council chairman, Robert Aley, would be the worship speakers and pastor of NBC Pfutsero, Krishna Ramauli, would the Bible study speaker of the conference, an update from AGBCN stated.
The inaugural day was marked with the unfurling of the AGBCN flag by AGBCN council chairman and speaker of inaugural service, Robert Aley. He spoke on the topic “Walking with God makes things possible.”
The pastor of NBC Kiphire, Bhim Sapkota, delivered the welcome address, while Thrijungliba Sangtam and the Head GB Kiphire Throngseli Sangtam exhorted the gathering.
Welcome song was presented by NBC Kiphire and songs were presented by members of Gorkha Baptist Church Jessami and Thahekhu.
Around 250 delegates from over 35 affiliated and associated Nepali/ Gorkha churches and fellowships under AGBCN from Nagaland, Manipur and Assam are participating in the conference. The conference would conclude on January 8.
