The Agathos Society is all set to organise Miss Kohima 2019 under the theme, “educate a girl, empower a society ” on Oct. 5 from 6:00 pm onwards at RCEMPA Hall, Jotsoma in Kohima .

Briefing media persons at D’Cafe in Kohima on Tuesday, Agathos Society announced that a total of 16 contestants would be selected to take part in the prestigious Miss Kohima  contest .

The organisers said the audition was done in four chosen colleges within Kohima where 25 candidates have been selected to go for the main audition.

Agasthos members informed that the final audition will take place at LCS building near Ao Church in main town where candidates would be shortlisted for the beauty pageant .

Students who missed to perform during the auditioning process in their colleges or any girl willing to take part in the annual Miss Kohima event can enrol their names on the day of audition slotted to commence on Saturday (Sep. 14) from 10:00 am onwards at LCS building .

To fulfil the eligibility criteria for the audition, a pageant girl residing in Kohima should have a minimum height of 5.5 feet and above while age limit 18-25 years old .

The panel  of judges for the upcoming pageant includes Ketholenuo Kense, Lanula Kronu and Dinesh Kumar .

The show will be choreographed and  directed  by Theja Sekhose with Lomi Shikhu as the official makeup artist, Rotholu Rose Puro and Shahilo Kent as the designer and photographer respectively .

Earlier, the organising team said beauty pageant have a huge impact on women empowerment because it gives a platform for the girls to be heard on different levels and most importantly, it places them in leadership and mentorship roles .
