Dimapur, Feb. 17 (EMN): Advisor of Technical Education and Election, Medo Yhokha, has expressed concern on the mushrooming of ‘unwarranted’ tuition centres in Kohima and suggested the concerned departments and the student bodies to recommend the matter after proper survey and study in order to streamline the whole system.
Yhokha pointed this out during the monthly meeting of Kohima district planning and development board (DPDB) held at the DPDB conference hall in Kohima on February 17. On registration of societies, Yhokha suggested the DPDB to streamline the verification system by involving concerned departments to look into the matters and give their opinions to the DPDB sub-committee for verification and then to DPDB for recommendation to the government.
Yhokha also appreciated the initiatives and efforts contributed by the district officers and encouraged them to continue their efforts towards the development of the district. He further asked the members to come up with a proposal for the development of Kohima town and requested them to be more active and come up with creative ideas in the next meeting.
Also speaking in the meeting, advisor of Urban Development and Municipal Affairs, Dr. Neikiesalie Kire suggested the concerned area administrative officers and the verifying committee to share their opinions in the DPDB meeting in order to build a strong society in the district.
On the proposal for reconsideration of shifting Sumo parking site to KMC parking site as submitted by various institutes in Jotsoma, the house deliberated on the issues and decided to take up the matter after necessary consultation with the concerned authorities.
Other members also shared their opinions and suggestions on the issues for the betterment and benefit of the people.
After much deliberation, the house decided to recommend five societies, which presented their aims and objectives, to the government for further necessary action.
