Chuchuyimlang (Mkg), Jan.10 (EMN): The Langpangkong Kaketshir Mungdang (LKM) 33rd Sports Meet was kicked off by Imnatiba, Advisor ofIndustries and Commerce, Labour and Employment, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship as the special guest at Chuchuyimlang under Mokokchung district on January 9.
The advisor said that hosting of the South Asian Cross Country Championship and 56th National Cross Champion has put Nagaland in the map of international sports. He added that within a short span of time, the sports roadmap set by the state government is progressing more tremendously than anticipated.
In this connection, he urged LKM to align with the district sports’ roadmap and the state government’s roadmap to help the young talents to become successful sportspersons.
He lamented that the economic status of Nagaland is lagging far behind the rest of the states in India because 95% are dependent on the government and merely 5% are engaged in business.
In this regard, he said that the state government is also trying all means to alleviate the economic status of the state by rolling out various plans and programmes.
He also urged the people of Langpangkong range to work towards unity and development, besides, promoting culture and tourism in the range.
Washimong Sadem Longkumer, President LKM, Chuchuyimlang Riongsanger Putu Menden; Pongsu, President Chang Students’ Conference; and Imlimatsung, Langpangkong Senso Telongjem Mokokchung also spoke at the event.
The 33rd sports meet will witness 16 units of LKM competing in football, five units in women’s volleyball and nine units in men’s volleyball.
