Nagaland adopts Jeevan Pramaan Digital Life Certificate to ease pension verification and continued pension disbursement.
DIMAPUR — The Government of Nagaland has adopted the “Jeevan Pramaan – Digital Life Certificate” system for pensioners to facilitate the continued disbursement of pensions, Chief Secretary Sentiyanger Imchen, has notified.
According to the notification, the digital life certificate will apply to various categories of pensioners under the state government, as well as pensioners of other state governments and the central government who draw their pension through the government of Nagaland.
A life certificate issued online through the Jeevan Pramaan portal, based on the pensioner’s Aadhaar number and Pension Payment Order (PPO) number, will be accepted for pensioners drawing their pension through the Government of Nagaland.
The Jeevan Pramaan system will be used for verification through Aadhaar biometric authentication and will be accepted as a valid Life Certificate.
The certificate can be accessed through the Jeevan Pramaan portal by the pension disbursing agency.
The notification stated that pensioners availing the digital facility will not be required to appear personally or submit a physical life certificate issued by the competent authority.
