DIMAPUR — Advisor to the Chief Minister of Nagaland and Chairman of the IDAN, Abu Metha graced the Task Force for Music & Arts (TaFMA) Nagaland felicitation programme held at Walo Guest House Mon Town on Aug. 31.
TaFMA felicitated Monglong T from Longphoah village and Wangkhao Issac from Angjangyang village.
Addressing the gathering, Abu Metha said that the programme is significant for the musicians and the music fraternity of Mon district while acknowledging their contribution and their role in the future of music.
Assuring that the government is with them, Metha said that Mon is the most important district as far as music and art is concerned.
In an update issued on Tuesday, Metha appreciated the creativity, innovation and disseminating information among the Konya influencers.
Citing that best footballers in Nagaland come from Mon district, he said the district has so much talent in the field of games and sports.
With the new opportunity, Metha said he was optimistic that Konyak sports person will not only play for Nagaland but also represent the country and serve the nation in various fields.
Even in music many people from Mon have presented in the state and at the national level too. Metha also highlighted the agendas of TaFMA like workshop, seminar, festival, etc.
He mentioned that the introduction of the Hornbill Festival Mon Extension was the highlights of one of the special attractions, where Nagaland is known throughout the world for the intellectual property of the international Hornbill festival, and stated that Mon has been a significant contributor in pushing grand Nagaland to the international Community.
He also encouraged the people that the Mon extension of Hornbill Festival 2026 to be bigger, larger with more progress, more participation and creative economy.
‘Nagaland will not rise if all sections of Naga Society doesn’t rise, Nagaland will not develop if the backward region does not develop. The talent of the people here is no less than anybody, the people here are not backward people, it is backward only in social economic and infrastructure development’, he commented.
