
Dimapur, Feb. 12 (EMN): The 2nd edition of Champions Trophy T-20 Cricket tournament, organised by Nagamese Baptist Fellowship (NBF) Sports Committee, Chumoukedima village commenced at Chumoukedima local ground on Saturday.
Bobby Panicker, former advisor to CM of Nagaland, was the chief guest and was accompanied by his wife, Naro Panicker, who was also the guest of honour, a press release informed.
In his address, Panicker congratulated all the teams, shared words of encouragement and declared the tourney open.
Playing the inaugural match, Woods XI-A defeated Gladiators Cricket Club by 19 runs.
Gladiators CC won the toss and chose to field first but gave away 194 runs to Woods XI-A for nine wickets. Vicky of Woods XI-A was adjudged man of the match for taking four wickets and scoring 27 runs.
The programme started with a blessing by Abemo Shitiri, church secretary of Police Baptist Church, which was by a welcome note from M G Das, finance secretary, NBF.
On Feb. 14, Deccan Strikers will take on Dimensions XI in the first match at 8 am, Braveheart will play against Fornex CC at 11 am in the second match and NBF will take on Bokajan XI Star in the last match at 2 pm.
