Nagaland sends 17-member wrestling team to Ahmedabad for the 2025 Senior National Championship after intensive month-long training.

DIMAPUR — A 17-member Naga wrestling contingent has reached Ahmedabad, Gujarat, to participate in the 2025 WFI Senior National Championship scheduled to be held from December 12 to 14.
According to the Nagaland Wrestling Association (NWA), the team underwent a month-long intensive training programme in both Freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling at the National Wrestling Academy, Nandini Nagar, Gonda, Uttar Pradesh, from November 11 to December 9.

The association expressed gratitude to the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) and the coaches, trainers and staff of the academy for providing high-quality training to the wrestlers.
The NWA said that it is hopeful of an improved performance from the state’s wrestlers at the national event.
The contingent includes noted wrestlers Venuzo Dawhuo and Huluyi D Vadeo, along with other male and female competitors.
The team is led by NWA president Vivolie Kezo, with Vekhriyi Chuzho, Rangsilang Ikierimbe and Mezhiesino Keyho serving as coaches.
