DIMAPUR — The residents of Naga United Village (NUV), Chümoukedima, came together in a vibrant display of community spirit and cultural heritage to celebrate the village’s 58th Foundation Day.
The event was marked by soulful prayers, traditional melodies, and a shared commitment to the village's continued progress, an update stated.
The commemorative programme commenced with a prayer led by the Nagaland United Village Baptist Church, setting a tone of gratitude and reflection for the decades of growth the village witnessed since its inception.
The celebration was enriched by a series of special musical performances that showcased the diverse cultural fabric of the community.

The Zuve Cultural Group, Ao Baptist Arogo and Women Society presented songs, emphasising the role of faith and unity in the village's identity.
In his keynote address, head GB Mase Mero reflected on the village’s journey over the last 58 years, and urged the younger generation to uphold the values of hard work and harmony established by the village pioneers.
A special prayer was offered by Rev. Chingbam Phom, who invoked blessings for the prosperity and well-being of all residents.
The village chairman Reyopoyi Nyekha delivered greetings on the occasion. The formal session concluded with a benediction by pastor Khehoyi Assumi.
Following the formal proceedings, the highlight of the recreational activities was a spirited tug of war, which saw enthusiastic participation from various sectors of the village, symbolising the collective strength of the community.
The foundation day festivities concluded with a community feast in the true spirit of Naga hospitality and brotherhood.
