Dimapur, Sep. 16 (EMN): Nagaland’s telemedicine platform “Naga Telehealth” is now operational, a week after it was launched by the state government with an aim to provide remote healthcare services to the people.
The minister of Health and Family Welfare, S Pangnyu Phom, informed this on Wednesday.
‘Naga Telehealth- telemedicine platform is now live. CHOs across Ayushman Bharat Health and Wellness Centre (HWC) in Nagaland will be able to have real-time consultations with doctors to ensure provision of essential services during the Covid-19 pandemic,’ the minister tweeted.
It may be mentioned that the Naga Telehealth is an initiative of the government of Nagaland in partnership with USAID, NISHTHA and Jhpiego. Telehealth is a method wherein communication technologies like computers and mobile phones are used to delivery healthcare, public health and health education services.
The officials had said during the launch of the platform last week that the technology-based healthcare solution will allow people living in remote areas to access consultation from qualified doctors.
The state government is planning to establish Naga Telehealth across all health and wellness centres in the state in phased manner and it will work in hub-and-spoke model.
