Dimapur, Oct. 30 (EMN): Ordained ministers gathered on October 28 in the Town Baptist Church of Dimapur under the aegis of the Dimapur Christian Forum to ‘pray for wisdom of God and his guided solution’ in view of the Indo-Naga peace talks.
“Bible reading (Nehemiah 1:1-10 & 2 Chronicles 7), the leaders prayed sincerely upholding the issue to the throne of grace recognizing that that there is a time for everything as the Word of God declared (Eccl 3:1-8),” a press release from the forum stated on Tuesday.
“The Sovereign God whom Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon and Darius of Mede and Persia declared and upheld is still in control of the Indo-Naga affairs. He holds the key of our national destiny.”
The members took a resolution to be conveyed to the Naga people, the underground groups and stakeholders, and the government of India, the press release stated.
“The families of Nagas come together under a spiritual platform and get the differences resolved and come to an agreed modality. The opinion of the family should be the final heart of the Nagas knowing that God is there when we love each other and have agreement with each other,” the statement’s first resolution read.
The second resolution stated that the government of India should honourably include all the “national” groups in the final solution recognising and respecting the unique history of the Naga people.
“The outcome of Naga political settlement should eradicate and uproot all possible germination and offshoots of violence, parallel confrontation, and bloodshed by a peaceful and democratic process of solution,” the third stated.
The churches and their members are asked to sincerely engage in fasting and prayer that the will of God is recognised and done to uphold his sovereignty, the statement read.
“May the wisdom of God prevail against dark shadow in the journey of our national destiny! May God’s will be done!" the forum added.
