- KOHIMA — The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF)
on Thursday reiterated its demand for 80% job reservation for Nagas of Nagaland
state in Nagaland University (NU) to which the vice chancellor has assured the
federation to implement the same.
- This was informed by NSF vice president Mteisuiding Heraang,
along with the general secretary Chumben Khuvung, assistant general secretary
Kenilo Kent and secretary of publicity and information Pithungo Shitio during a
press conference held at its office in Kohima.
- While it demanded that the physical mode of examination be
conducted for gazetted posts, both teaching and non-teaching posts, it also
stated that online video conference mode of interview for teaching and
non-teaching gazetted posts should not be conducted.
- NSF has questioned the credibility of the recruitment board
as after the COVID pandemic hit the world, NU under the current vice chancellor
has started virtual mode of recruitment exams for professors, particularly for
associate professors. The federation has identified that non-Nagas are being
recruited.
