DIMAPUR — The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) has issued a notification calling for an emergency protest on Tuesday, opposing the inclusion of non-indigenous candidates under the Nagaland state quota for NEET 2025 admissions.
According to the federation, the state quota is “strictly and exclusively reserved for indigenous Naga candidates” under existing policies and constitutional safeguards for scheduled tribes.
The NSF stated that permitting non-indigenous candidates under the quota would deprive eligible Naga students of their rightful opportunities, undermine the intent of the reservation policy, and set a precedent for misuse of temporary postings and affiliations.

The federation directed all its federating units and subordinate bodies to send ten volunteers each to NSF Oking, Naga Solidarity Park, Kohima, by 11 am on Tuesday, from where the protest will be initiated. It has also appealed to citizens of Nagaland to participate in the demonstration.
Reaffirming its stand, the NSF said it would oppose any attempt to dilute or misuse the provisions meant for indigenous Naga students.
