Frontal Naga student organizations based in Dimapur in an emergency meeting held today have condemned the ‘reported rape’ case of Naga girl. They also condemned the killing of rape accused by a mob. Ao Students Union Dimapur, Chakhesang Students Union, Dimapur Lotha Students Union, Dimapur Sumi Students Union, Kuda (Angami) Students Union, Rengma Students Union Dimapur, Pochury Students Union Dimapur , Thanghkul Students Union Dimapur and Zeliang Students Union Dimapur participated in the emergency meeting.
In the meeting, these student bodies, in view of the unwarranted situation, direct all members of the respective units to restrain in attending any function/social gathering on this issue without prior notification from its units. It also directed to refrain in spreading of unwanted rumors and use of social media that may escalate the situation, further the mobile numbers of respective units are given to coordinate or for any clarifications.
The members were of the opinion that all citizens in and around Dimapur especially non
Nagas are safe and sound and resolved to protect all citizens irrespective of all faiths from any anti social elements that might threaten the peaceful atmosphere.
The members present appealed to all citizens to maintain peace and harmony in and around Dimapur and also appealed the neighboring states and their citizen to help in restoring normalcy to maintain peace harmony.
The members present also appealed all the administrators of different social networking blogs to completely refrain in posting of present issue which is sensitive in nature.
The members also decided to extend fullest cooperation to the district administration in maintaining peace and harmony of its citizens.
