NSCN (Reformation) has said, both Kilonser Wangtin and P.Tikhak were not informed on the likelihood of the abrogation of ceasefire by NSCN (K) but they were expelled from the outfit for attending the ceasefire meeting on the invitation of the GoI. The MIP NSCN (R) in a statement said, the duo attended the meeting as both the leaders were members of CFSB on behalf of NSCN (K) and appointed by S.S.Khaplang, chairman NSCN (K).
They did not want the empty chair to receive the representative of the GoI, and any dispute, discontentment, or disagreement or violation can be resolved through talks and negotiation and not sudden outburst of anger through the barrel of a gun, the statement said.
“There are many ways to say good bye but, the way adopted by Mr. Khaplang and Mr. Niki by attacking the security forces and the other NPGs on the eve of ceasefire meeting, without keeping them informed on the abrogation of ceasefire and thereby, putting the life of two leaders at risk raises a serious question on their intention and their character.”
On collusion with the IB and MHA officials, the NSCN (R) said, meeting the representatives of the GoI was part of the ceasefire process.
The NSCN (R) questioned as to why would Wangtin’s residence be ransacked and weapons seized, including two arms allotted for the red card holder, while he was in the middle of the ceasefire meeting in New Delhi, if there was any hobnobbing with the IB and MHA officials.
“You cannot expect the Prime minister of India to represent the GOI in the ceasefire meeting. It is represented by officials from MHA and MOD and therefore you are bound to meet them.”
The statement also questioned as to why would Wangtins and Tikhak’s hotel room raided in Guwahati, Assam while the two leaders were on their way to New Delhi to raise the issue of 6 (six) NSCN (K) cadres killed in Senapati on 22.06.2013.
“Why Mr.Wangtin would be apprehended and detained for more than six and half long hours in Sonari, Assam on 22.06.2015.
The atrocities did not stop here. Mr. Wangtin’s only account in SBI Mon along with his wife account is completely freeze, as perv section 51-A, of unlawful activities prevention act-1967, accusing him of laundering terrorist activities since September 2014, which is yet to be de-freeze.
On June.04.2014, one Phulai Wangpan was arrested by a joint team of police and army with a cash amount of Rs. 1,50,000/- (One lakh and fifty thousand) in Tinsukia. Mr. Tikhak who was completely unaware pleaded his innocence at all levels but, yet all charges were framed against him. When he did not surrender before the police a non-bail able arrest warrant was issued against him and his only ancestral home were his parents resides was seized under 82 crpc. This is the level of physical and mental harassment the two leaders has faced for being loyal to Khaplang.”
Citing the statement issued by Lt. Col.(Retd) Isak Sumi published on 31.05.2013 in local dailies after he was expelled from NSCN(K), “where he mentioned that, during my stint in service (2004-2013), I have met many friends and equally rivals too, factionalism has at times forced me to commit unreasonable actions against fellow Naga brothers but, no such action were personally motivated or dictated, all were purely circumstantial. Now that, I am to start my life anew with three children, wife and a family, I make this fervent plea to every Naga political groups to spare me of my suspicion or connivance in favor or against any groups in the days to come. I want to ask Mr. Isak Sumi that, how many times will he like to write the same article as above? If you have little respect for your wife and children, try to use your wisdom in building a good and better Naga society.”
Stating that Naga sovereignty is not a private property of any individual, NSCN (R) said, sovereignty belongs to the people.
“The most important thing to ponder at this juncture is not to see if “We are with the people but, to see if the people are with us”. Person like Mr. Niki Sumi and Mr. Isak Sumi should stop befooling themselves. How long will they keep on taking the Naga people for ransom in the name of sovereignty?”
The statement added, “In their craze for money, they hatched a conspiracy against kilonser Hokato Vusshe, who was finally dropped from Chaplee ministry. Later, they start gunning for Kughalu Mulatonu, while he was in Taga, and finally they also managed to chase him out of NSCN (K) .Now, they were emboldened and wanted to be a master of NSCN(K) in the state of Nagaland and therefore, gradually they started plotting against Kilonser Wangtin, which was also finally realized with his expulsion from the NSCN(K) for attending the CFSB meeting in Chumukedima, Dimapur.”
