- DIMAPUR — Naga
society’s torturous crawl towards healing and reconciliation drew a significant
marker on Monday when the Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR) facilitated a
joint meeting with various apex Naga tribe bodies and the Naga political
groups.
- A press release informed that the meeting was convened “in a
spirit of unity and determination” and with the express purpose of advancing
“the collective political aspirations of the Naga people.”
- “Accordingly, the following resolutions were adopted: To
facilitate and strengthen the Council of Naga Cooperation and Relationship
(CNCR), as signed by the NPGs on 14 January, 2025, the Naga tribe bodies will
formally join as official participants effective from the next meeting.
- “The subsequent meeting of the Naga cultural tribe bodies,
the NPGs and the FNR is fixed on Tuesday, 22 April, 2025. The Naga tribe bodies
earnestly request the highest leadership of the NPGs to attend this critical
gathering. Aligned with the CNCR, full cooperation from all parties is
essential and deeply valued,” it stated.
- The FNR appealed to every Naga to offer prayers and
unwavering support for their shared cause.
- Aside from the members of FNR and NPGs, those in attendance
included leaders of Ao Senden, Angami Public Organisation, Chakhesang Public
Organisation, Lotha Hoho, Sumi, Hoho, Rengma Hoho, Pchury Hoho, Tangkhul Union,
United Naga Council, Mao Council, Tangkhul Naga Hoho, and Zeliang People's
Organisation Dimapur.
