
KOHIMA — The 'Naga Prege Football Club' (NPFC) was launched and its official jersey was released at Thizama Village Council Hall on Tuesday.
President of Nagaland Football Coach Association and former international footballer Roko Angami launched a new football club called 'Naga Prege Football Club' (NPFC) at Thizama Village Council Hall on Tuesday.

Manager of the club, Khrielievi-o Yhor, said the new FC was floated with an aim to create a model club, where a particular community takes initiative, supports and gets involve for its growth and sustenance. At present, there is no club culture here, he lamented, adding that the FCs in the state can come together and have a healthy competition.
Amid drug and alcoholism problem in the society, he said developing sports culture will contribute towards a healthy lifestyle.
When youth are actively engaged themselves in sports, many bad life styles are reduced. The NPFC will focus on all round development the young players, he said.
‘One of the visions of the club is to promote young budding players. They will be guided and nurtured, and will participate in the upcoming Kohima League,’ he added.
He further said that the new club will be transparent and accountable besides providing a platform for the youth to become professionals.
