Dimapur, May 12 : Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) has said that all the 60 legislators of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly came together under DAN platform on the pretext of pressing for an early Naga political solution.
Referring to meeting of DAN legislators on May 10, NPCC said requesting FNR to play a bigger role towards pursuing a solution to the protracted Naga political problem and tasking to bring different NPGs to an understanding proved that they are 60 blind men.
“They have neither vision to solve the political problem nor the political will to take things forward after all the rhetorics.”
A statement issued by Media Cell, NPCC said, “They say they have come together for the solution, but if they have any solution, why should they look for FNR. FNR is voluntary organization, trying to help unite the NPGs. We thank FNR for what they have done. We are also thankful to all the Foreigners who have supported their meetings in Chiangmei. They have done what could do but FNR is not a mediator between GOI and NPGs and it is not responsible for failure to bring solution.”
“NPCC has been harping all the time that 60 legislators have shamelessly come together to loot the state treasury under the guise of Naga political solution. They are more interested in bluffing the public with the dose of Naga political solution while merrily indulging in their own aggrandizement. Public has had enough of DAN government shedding crocodile tears for Naga political problem. NPF led DAN government does not have any policy or vision to solve the political problem. Facilitating and supporting is not policy; although they calm it is their policy. It means; we do not want to involve, you do what you can. We are not worried whatever happens to public, it is up to you and the public. We are busy robbing the public funds.”
The statement said, “The only notable achievement of 60 legislators coming together is that they have preserved the relevance of Winston Churchill take on Indian politicians. Quote “Power will go to the hands of rascals, rogues and freebooters. All Indian leaders will be of low caliber and men of straw. They will have sweet tongues and silly hearts. They will fight amongst themselves for power and India will be lost in political squabbles. A day would come when even air and water would be taxed.”
