Mokokchung, Aug. 6 (EMN): The deputy commissioner of Mokokchung, Sachin Jaiswal said Naga people should develop the habit of savings if Nagaland has to prosper. Habit of savings coupled with proper financial management practices is mandatory for every individual and not just for entrepreneurs, the DC maintained.
Hard work is required to be successful in any venture, be it academics or business, he added.
Jaiswal was speaking at the third phase micro-loan distribution ceremony of the Mokokchung Entrepreneurs Consortium (MEC) La Catalyst scheme in Mokokchung on Aug. 6, a press release received on Monday informed.
Appreciating the MEC for their micro-finance initiative, DC encouraged the beneficiaries to utilise the loans proficiently without squandering it on unproductive investments.
A total of 12 women entrepreneurs from Mokokchung were granted a microloan of INR 50,000 each on Aug. 6 by MEC under its La Catalyst scheme which is exclusively designed for women entrepreneurs.
Earlier in the programme, chairman of MEC Tsukti Longkumer while delivering the keynote address said that the micro-loans were given away with trust that the beneficiaries would repay them on time. He announced that trustworthy beneficiaries will be rewarded with bigger amounts of loan in the future.
Informing that the MEC also has a ‘wise counsel’ cell, the chairman told the prospective entrepreneurs with new ideas or struggling entrepreneurs to avail the service provided by the MEC.
