Eastern Mirror Desk Dimapur, Feb. 26: In yet another indication of the Naga peoples’ frustration at New Delhi’s continued failure to resolve the Indo-Naga negotiations, the Naga Hoho and the Naga Students’ Federation on Tuesday boycotted the meeting with the government of India’s interlocutor, RN Ravi in Kohima. The two organisations' boycott comes in the backdrop of the Naga Mothers’ Association announcing on Monday last that it would not attend the “consultative meeting” with Ravi. Both the organisations, in separate statements issued on Tuesday, said the boycott was to protest the government of India’s ‘insincerity’ and ‘lack of political will’ towards solving the Indo-Naga political problem. The president of the Naga Hoho, Chuba Ozukum, told Eastern Mirror: “Along with the Naga Hoho, other Naga frontal organisations under Naga Hoho, including the Naga Students’ Federation, are expected to follow the Naga Hoho’s decision; however, the decision to boycott the meeting was only the Naga Hoho’s stand and that other organisations are free to differ from us.” In a separate statement, the Naga Students’ Federation stated that it would not be attending the meeting with Ravi, scheduled for Feb. 26 and 27. “Taking into serious account the insincerity of the government of India, the NSF will not attend the consultative meeting being convened by R N Ravi,” it stated.
