- DIMAPUR — The
Naga National Political Alliance (NNPA) and Sumi frontal organisations
represented by officials the Sümi Hoho, Sümi Kükami Hoho, Western Sümi Hoho,
Western Sümi Kükami Hoho and Western Sümi Youth Front held a consultative
meeting in Dimapur on April 8.
- The NNPA was led by Hokato Vusshe, Ato kilonser of NSCN (K);
Akato Chophy, president of NSCN/GPRN; Kiyelho Wokhami, Ato kilonser of NPGN/NNC
(MK) and Nupavi Achumi, Ato kilonser of UGN/NNC (PB) and host of council of
kilonsers, senior military officers and central secretariat staff.
- A press release issued by NSCN/GPRN (Khango-Hokato Vusshe)
through its MIP stated that Hokato has highlighted on the current scenario of
the Naga political issue and the role of the NNPA in pursuing vigorously with
the Government of India (GOI) for early solution. He also presented in brief
some few important set of demands put forth by the NNPA with the Government of
India for the larger interest of the Naga people.

- Urging all the Naga political groups leaders to work towards
a common interest of the Nagas, Hokato stated that the position he holds today
is just an assignment and would be the first person to sacrifice his chair if
all the Naga political groups are to come together for the unified Naga
political solution.
- Acknowledging the role of the civil society organizations,
he urged the leaders to work selflessly and cohesively towards bridging the gap
into the already fragmented Naga society.
- Also speaking at the meeting, Akato thanked the leaders for
answering to their calls for the consultative meeting. He acknowledged the
leaders of Sümi frontal organisations for their time and efforts in maintaining
peace and working for the welfare of the people in this troubled times.
- It stated that the leaders of Sümi frontal organisations
have acknowledged the workers of the Naga political groups for their yeomen
service to the Naga cause and their continuous efforts towards achieving a
final solution that is acceptable and honorable to the Nagas and heeding to the
call of peace in the land.
- Expressing their concern on the issue of multiple Naga
political groups, which has become a grave concern for the general populace,
the leaders have urged all the Naga political groups to unite and work
selflessly for the common good of the Nagas.
- It mentioned that the significant consultative meeting,
which lasted for more than three hours, was hugely successful as it brought
together NNPA and civil society organisations to discuss and deliberate on the
issues pertaining to the society and find a common ground to address the Naga
political issue and bring to its logical conclusion.
