DIMAPUR — The Naga Mothers’ Association (NMA) has condemned the bail granted to the prime accused in the murder of a mother at Pimla village and called for immediate intervention by the state government to ensure justice.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the NMA expressed solidarity with the Zeliangrong Mepui Organisation and described the release of the accused as a grave injustice to the victim’s family.
The association urged the authorities to ensure that the accused remain in custody until the completion of trial.

The NMA recalled that it had earlier met the former commissioner of police, Dimapur, urging him to expedite the investigation into the case and ensure that the guilty were punished under the law. It has now appealed to the newly appointed commissioner of police, Dimapur, to take cognisance of the petition filed by his predecessor in court and pursue the matter with urgency.
