Dimapur, May 16 (EMN): Two players of the Yoddha Fighting Championship (YFC) have had a chance to experience competition in the international arena. The two players, Imkongsunep Jamir and Ketholetuo Nagi, participated in the 28th Ultimate Beatdown Borneo on May 12 in Malaysia recently. The two will be returning to Nagaland on Friday, updates stated on Wednesday.
In an interaction with Eastern Mirror, their coach Khriemelie Metha claimed, “After seeing our performances, the promoters behind Ultimate Beatdown Borneo have promised to invite us again for their next event sometime in October.”
On being asked if there were any plans for a Mixed Martial Arts event, he said plans are being made to host one in Nagaland after the monsoon season.
In the event at the International Technology and Commercial Centre at Kota Kinabalu, 28 years old Jamir won a bantamweight (61.2kgs) bout. He won a match against Zheng Teng Lim from Evolve MMA, Singapore.
The Naga player is the YFC's 2017 featherweight division (66kgs) champion.
Twenty five years old Ketholetuo Nagi, the YFC's 2017 strawweight division (52kg) champion, lost his flyweight (56.7kgs) bout to Dayat from Brunei.
