Dimapur, August 7 : The Naga Hoho delegation today called on the Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Radha Mohan Singh this morning at Police House, Chumukedima, Dimapur and appeal that the college of VS&AH in Nagaland be allowed to have its own Central Agricultural University (CAU) and not under any state. The four-member-Naga Hoho delegation including P.Chuba Ozukum, President, H.K. Zhimomi, Vice President, C.Daipao, Publicity Secretary and Elu Ndang, Assembly Secretary expressed appreciation to the Union Minister for granting and establishing Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry at Jalukie, saying the Naga people have been demanding from the Government of India for establishment of various colleges and universities. Lauding the Union Cabinet for approval towards the amendment of Central Agricultural University (CAU) Act, 1992 for the inclusion of Nagaland under the jurisdiction of the CAU, the Naga Hoho however insisted that the college of VS&AH in Nagaland be allowed to have its own CAU and not under any state. The Naga Hoho in a press statement issued by its Secretary, Information & Publicity C. Daipaio noted that the college of VS&AH has been granted to Nagaland under the CAU, Imphal, which is not at all feasible for obvious reasons. The delegation further pleaded upon the Union Minister to establish more colleges under Agri & allied sector in Nagaland in near future.
