The Naga Hoho on Monday also informed of its decision to organize an “International Conference on Naga Political Issue” in Kohima in the latter part of October this year.
According to a Naga Hoho press release issued today, this decision was taken during its executive meeting in Kohima, keeping in mind the need to explore and share among different sections of the society on the Naga political.
“As far as Indo-Naga political problem is concerned, Naga Hoho strongly feels that there is no individual entity for ownership; rather Naga people must resolve the problem collectively. It is also universally true that Naga people have been longing for a single Naga National government with only one taxation.
“We also fully recognize that this has been the desire and wishes of Against Corruption and Unabated Taxation (ACAUT) and the public as well. We further acknowledge and appreciate the stance of ACAUT and their activities against corruption in the state,” it stated.
However, the Naga Hoho is of the view that the ACAUT organizing the upcoming “Common Platform” under the theme “Naga Opinion on peaceful settlement” at this juncture on the highly sensitive Naga political issue will not be appropriate, it informed. “While acknowledging the invitation from ACAUT, Naga Hoho has decided to abstain owing to obvious reasons. In this regard, all the constituent Units/Hohos are requested to follow the stance of Naga Hoho appreciating the current vulnerabilities of our political situation.”
The Naga Hoho also noted that “it is univocally clear that Mr. Thepfulhouvi has been writing time and again against the legitimate Naga Hoho in the print and electronic media with special reference to “Pan-Naga Federation” which was capitulated on Thursday, September 3, 2015 in local dailies wherein Thepfulhouvi has mentioned unpalatable words with malicious content against the Naga Hoho which is highly questionable in nature and needs serious examination. Therefore, it was decided to take up the matter during the forthcoming Naga Hoho Federal Assembly due in October, 2015.”
