The Ao Senden has revoked its earlier decision to withdraw its endorsement of P. Chuba Ozukum to Naga Hoho office after he tendered an apology, claiming that the matter is now settled as per the established cultural norms of the Ao community.
The Ao Senden said that in its presidential council meeting held on October 16 seriously deliberated the press statement of Naga Hoho led by P. Chuba Ozukum, appeared in local dailies on September 17, which it said, was a direct reaction against the decision of the Ao Senden on Changki issue.
The Ao Senden had subsequently issued a statement on October 6 to withdraw its mandate given to P. Chuba Ozukum as Ao Senden representative to Naga Hoho, giving 10 days to take appropriate actions from the Naga Hoho office.
Ao Senden president Prof. Sangyu Yaden and general secretary Tsupong Longchar in a statement claimed that Ozukum had tendered apology and requested the Ao Senden office to permit him to address his position.
“In this regard, the Ao Senden had given a platform to P. Chuba Ozukum along with his village Yimjenkimong Village Council as witness and after giving his confessional statement P. Chuba Ozukum has apologized for his mistake in the meeting of Ao Senden presidential council in presence of his village council on the same day,” the statement of the Ao Senden further claimed.
