Naga Hoho constitutes Naga Political Affairs Committee

Principal Correspondent Kohima, December 12 The Naga Hoho has set up a Committee on Naga Political Affairs (CONPA) with 13 members to take initiatives towards reconciliation, unity, ceasefire and settlement of the Naga issue. Informing this in a release, Naga Hoho general secretary Mutsikhoyo Yhobu said that the Executive of the Naga Hoho in its Executive Council Meeting has set up CONPA with its Vice President H.K Zhimomias the Convenor. He said that in the 1st Federal Assembly, the Naga Hoho had reiterated its position on Resolution No. 7 & 8 of the 10th General Session 2013 which was appended as an annexure. “To further the objectives, the House endorsed the Executive Council to set up a Committee to initiate particularly on Reconciliation and Unity, Cease-Fire and Political Settlement,” he said. The Executive Council has nominated the follow into CONPA: T.N. Mannen, IAS (retired) – Ao, Mhasizokho – Angami, Thepuphi – Chakhesang, S. Akho Leyri – Pochury, Vitokhe Assumi – Sumi, N. Kath – Rengma, Gilbert – Chandel, Joyson – Poumai, Aram Pamei – Zeliangrong, Raitu Elu - Zeliangrong (Nagaland), Y.P. Jami – Kyong, Somi Mayar Awungshi – Tangkhul and H.K Zhimomi, Vice President Naga Hoho as Convenor. Further the Executive also expressed its sincere gratitude to CONPA members and fervently appealed them to initiate the process towards building for the Naga nation for the larger perspective. The Naga Hoho extends its Christmas greetings to all the Nagas as we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Let the life and teachings of Christ be the greatest example to all the Nagas and the Christmas message of” Peace on earth”,become a reality in all Naga areas.
