Naga Hoho asks India to announce renewal of ceasefire with Niki-led group

Dimapur, Jan. 5 (EMN): The Naga Hoho on Tuesday appealed to the government of India to officially declare the renewal of ceasefire with the NSCN/GPRN led by (retired). Gen. Niki Sumi.

The statement from the Naga Hoho came days after the president of the group (Niki Sumi) stated that it had decided to join the peace process, heeding to the call of the Nagas to peace a chance,

 “The Naga Hoho is convinced and appreciates the matured decision taken by Rtd. Gen. Niki Sumi to renew the ceasefire with Government of India. However, the Naga people are still in dark without knowing what is really happening between the GoI and NSCN (Niki) group.

 “In this regard, the Hoho urge upon the Government of India to formally announce the renewal of ceasefire with the concern NSCN without any precondition on the leadership for an inclusive solution,” read the press release.
