Dimapur, Dec. 12 (EMN): Naga Hoho has appealed to the Rengma and Zeliangrong communities in Assam to observe total shutdown within their respective jurisdiction in solidarity with the Oting villagers and the Konyak community in general.
The Naga Hoho had visited the North Cachar Hills, Assam on Dec. 10, organised by Zeliangrong civil societies, Assam at Lodi village, Halflong, an update stated.
During the visit, the team apprised the Nagas of Assam about the ongoing Naga peace talk and the prevailing situation in Nagaland with regard to the Oting incident of Dec. 4, it said.
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=6]It stated that the Hoho appreciated and acknowledged the support and cooperation of the Rengma-Zeliangrong Joint Council, Assam to the Naga Hoho.
During the interaction, the two communities briefed the team on the grievances faced by the Nagas living in Assam, it said.
The Hoho condemned the ‘step-motherly treatment’ meted out to the Nagas by the Government of Assam and assured to extend support through appropriate authorities.
