Dimapur, Jan. 21 (EMN): The Naga Council Dimapur and Public Action Committee (PAC) organised a reception programme for the new Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur Kevekha Kevin Zehol on Jan. 21 at Naga Council office in the city. A coordination meeting was also held with the new DC.
Addressing the gathering, Zehol expressed gratitude to the Naga Council for welcoming him and asserted that the district administration would maintain a healthy relationship with the council for the welfare of the people. He asked the members of the council members to be an example for the younger generation and “lauded the retired senior government officials for responding to the calls in serving the society by being a part of the Naga Council Dimapur.” To be a social worker, it has to come from the blood and I am so proud you are the dedicated soldiers, he said.
Naga Council president Bangerloba Jamir, reiterated that Naga Council was created in 1949 to bring peace and harmony, and sought cooperation from the administration in working for the Naga society.
Describing peace and tranquillity as the most important component for a society to grow, PAC convenor Vekhosayi reaffirmed that the committee would continue to work for justice. He also assured to extend full cooperation to the district administration.
