Naga Council directs units not to attend Naga Hoho meeting

Dimapur, Aug. 26 (EMN): Dimapur’s community apex the Naga Council has directed its constituents not to attend the proposed Naga Hoho meeting in Dimapur. The council issued a statement on Monday directing its constituents to not attend the meeting. The Naga Council’s executive members are stated to have conducted an emergency meeting on August 26, during which they deliberated on the proposed Naga Hoho meeting on the 28th of August 2019 in Dimapur. “The Naga Council Dimapur, after a thorough discussion hereby directs all its units to abstain from the proposed Naga Hoho meeting as the Naga Hoho has convened the said meeting without intimation to Naga Council Dimapur even though the organization is the co-opted member of the Naga Hoho,” the organisation stated. Earlier too, the Central Nagaland Tribes Council had directed its constituent units not to attend the meeting called by Naga Hoho on August 23 in Mokokchung as three tribal apexes the Ao, the Lotha and the Sumi Naga had disassociated themselves from it and were no longer part of the organisation.
