DIMAPUR — Vice President of Naga Council Dimapur (NCD), Holuto Aye, who passed away on June 19, was laid to rest at Naga Cemetery, Zani village, on Friday, following a funeral service at his residence in Sumi Khel, Notun Bosti.
Late Holuto Aye (72 years) is survived by his wife and five children.
He served as a councilor of the NCD from 2015 to 2020 and was inducted as vice president on August 7, 2021. Prior to that, he served as treasurer of the Notun Bosti Council, Dimapur, from 2010 to 2012, and held various other roles, dedicating his service to the community.
Various leaders and representatives from different organisations paid their respects to the late Holuto Aye during the funeral service.

NCD president Etsungmomo Kikon, in a tribute, remembered Holuto Aye as a soft-spoken and humble individual, saying he would be deeply missed as a friend, colleague, and leader.
Kikon said the passing of the NCD vice president is a significant loss not only to the council but also to the wider community.
The chairman of Notun Bosti Council described Aye as a man of principle and discipline, whose leadership and guidance left a lasting impact on everyone.
The GB of Sumi Khel, Notun Bosti, Kikhevi Yeptho, said that late Aye dedicated his entire life to serving the public and worked tirelessly for the common good.
Former MLA of Nagaland, H Khehovi Yeptho described Holuto Aye as a pillar of the community, a man of his word, a mentor to many, and a true son of the soil.
The chairman of Yehemi Community Dimapur, Shihoto Chophy, said late Aye was a well-educated individual with a clear vision to lead the Naga people.
Tovihoto, others condole
Advisor of Tribal Affairs and Election, H Tovihoto Ayemi, has condoled the demise of Holuto Aye. Ayemi described him as a humble soul, whose life was dedicated to the service and betterment of the Naga people and added that from his early days as a student leader to his distinguished roles in social and political life, he served with sincerity, compassion and unwavering commitment.
In another statement, the GB Union Dimapur (Sadar) described Holuto Aye as a soft-spoken person with a vision dedicated to work for the welfare of the people.
The union stated that in his demise, the Naga people and Dimapurians have lost a selfless leader, who has genuine concern for the well-being of everyone and peaceful co-existence among different communities.
The Notun Bosti Council Dimapur (NBCD) also conveyed grief over the demise of Aye.
In a separate condolence message, the Ward-21 Welfare Committee, Dimapur, extended condolences on the passing of Holuto Aye, remembering him for his service as former chairman of Sumi Khel, Notun Bosti.
“In his passing, we have lost a fatherly figure, a voice of reason and a pillar of strength in our society. His guidance and unwavering commitment to public service have inspired many, and his absence leaves a void that will be difficult to fill,” the message read.
