Naga Council Dimapur urges police commissioner to extend the vehicle verification deadline past October 11.
DIMAPUR — The Naga Council Dimapur (NCD) has submitted a formal appeal to the Commissioner of Police, Dimapur Commissionerate, requesting an extension of the October 11 deadline for updating vehicle documents, alongside the opening of additional verification centres to alleviate public inconvenience.
In a letter addressed to the police commissioner, NCD President GK Rengma and General Secretary LK Peter Anal acknowledged the ongoing verification process being carried out under the Motor Vehicles Act by the concerned authorities.
The council stated that its office has received numerous complaints and grievances from vehicle owners regarding hardships faced while waiting in long queues on the road leading to the District Transport Office at Purana Bazaar for document verification.

The NCD appealed to the authorities to set up additional operative mechanisms for vehicle inspection and document verification, specifically suggesting the establishment of a centre at the Old District Transport Office in Chümoukedima to prevent hardship and harassment to the public.
The council further requested the authorities to consider the convenience of school students, noting that final examinations for the current academic session will commence shortly.
