Dimapur, Oct. 12 (EMN): The Naga Council Dimapur (NCD) has asked the power department to consult the gaon buras, chairmen and the various colony councils while undertaking the replacement of electric poles in and around the various localities in Dimapur. The NCD Vice President (Admn.) K. Ghokheto Chophy, in a press release, said that the decision to replace the electric poles will be undertaken shortly which was decided at a meeting convened by the Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur Sushil Kumar Patel on the Oct. 6 .
Therefore, in order the carry out the works smoothly, the council has requested the department to consult the leaders in the different colonies and localities so that no communication gap will arise and that any hindrance or obstruction of work may be avoided after the work begins.
Saying that the Naga Council Dimapur will be assisting the power department and the district administration in carrying out the works, Chophy said that ‘this monumental exercise for the betterment of the town will be taking place after a gap of nearly 40 years. He appealed all the citizens and colony authorities to fully cooperate and allow the work in their respective localities.
Meanwhile the Naga Council has also appreciated the chief engineer, electrical department govt. Nagaland for taking such an initiative for the betterment of the Dimapur town.
