Dimapur, Dec. 7 (EMN): The brew is getting hotter. Six contestants of the Naga Chef season-five faced round five ‘pressure task’ in the cooking competition on Dec. 7.
A press release on Thursday informed that the top-six contestants were given a ‘mystery basket’ each to cook a main course within 60 minutes. The guest of honour for the Naga Chef’s round-five was Sumit Mitra, board member of Godrej Industries and associated companies.
The winner of the ‘pressure task’ according to Team Godrej was Khurusatolu Chuzho; and Shiumai Konyak and Yuhgang Konyak, first and second runners-up respectively. Mitra also gave away a cash prize to the youngest contestant Nisi Chase ‘for showing and inspiring the younger generation to chase and liven up their dreams in cooking,’ the updates informed. The contestants’ scores were based on their culinary skills, aesthetic and communication skills. Out of six competitors, two were eliminated and four cooks were selected to contest round-six, ‘just desserts’ round, under the aegis of Synergy Group Enterprises and supported by the department of Tourism.
The top-four contestants are Rokokhono Nyekha, Nisi Chase, Shuimai Phom and Khurusatolu Chuzho.
The judges for the day were Sentila T Yanger, Chef Joel Basumatari, Alemjungla Jamir and Kevitsu Doze.
The winner of Naga Chef season-five will walk away with a cash prize of three lakh; and surprise gifts for the top-three contestants, it was informed.
