- DIMAPUR — The Naga Baptist Leaders Meet,
organised by the Fellowship of Naga Baptist Associations (FNBA), commenced on
March 25 at Union Baptist Church, Ukhrul. Hosted by the Tangkhul Baptist
Churches Association (TBCA), the event is being held under the theme “One
Faith, One Lord, One Baptism”, with the aim of fostering unity and
strengthening fellowship among the Naga Baptist community.
- The gathering has drawn thousands of Baptist leaders from
Nagaland, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Myanmar, and Manipur, according to an
update.
- The inaugural session was led by Medowelou Wezah and Mashun
Khangrah, with Dr. Rampaukoping Michui, Executive Secretary of ZBCC, offering
the invocation. Rev. Dr. H Gideon, General Secretary of FNBA, introduced the
programme, followed by a welcome address from Rev. Dr. Mathotmi Vasha,
Executive Secretary of TBCA.
- Dr. Visor H Zeliang delivered the presidential address while
greetings were shared by Rev. Dr. Mar Pongener, General Secretary of the
Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC), and a special prayer for Naga leaders
was offered by Khontele Seb, President of DBWU.
- The opening day’s service featured musical performances by
the local choir and the NBCC Choir, as well as a drama presentation by Dimapur
Ao Baptist Arogo. A sermon, titled “One Lord, One Faith, One Baptism,” was
delivered by Rev. Ramkhaning Tungshang, Pastor of Dwarka Community Church,
Delhi.
- The programme concluded with a closing prayer by Rev. Alani
Shongsir, Executive Secretary of MNBCA.
